Professional background

Sarah has had a wide ranging career to date, she has worked in both large companies in Central London to small to medium sized practices in South Hertfordshire.

Mainly working for Surveying practices, she has also worked for two Architectural firms where she enjoyed designing extensions and refits of residential and retail properties and also a couple of schools. Sarah’s first workplace at a specialist party wall firm in London in the mid 90’s has meant that this discipline has remained part of her career and she has been specialising in this area for several years prior to joining bf. She was involved in the reconstruction of Wembley Stadium, which involved the use of inspections from many cherry pickers and also a party wall project which involved an inspection of part of London Underground’s Central Line at 3am – experiencing the highs and lows of surveying.

She has wealth of experience in dealing with numerous different clients including Tesco, Land Securities and Grosvenor Estates.

Experience

– Party Wall and Neighbourly matters > Working for The Crown Estate on a project close to Trafalgar Square as building owner’s surveyor. Roof alteration and extension and scaffolding and crane licences.

– Survey work > Surveys of residential properties in London and Home Counties.

– Project Management>Residential refit of house in Hitchin, £200,000 + and re-roofing works for flats in Harpenden £500,000 and refit of fire damaged property in Chesham.

– Architectural services  > Refit and extension of school in Rickmansworth, Extensions to Sainsbury’s supermarkets, domestic extensions and new build projects.

Paul joined bf in the early 1990s to establish our Building Surveying Department. As a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 35 years’ experience, he has worked on a wide variety of properties across the UK.

He has developed a strong team with an established client base that benefits from his considerable technical knowledge and his diligent approach to their property matters. Paul was instrumental in launching our London office in 2015 in response to client needs.

James joined bf in 1996 and became a Partner in 2004. He has over 35 years’ experience as a Chartered Surveyor working both client-side in Estates Departments for two companies dealing with premises throughout the UK and also on the Agency side based in the West End for Grimley JR Eve.

He is also an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. James’ established network of contacts and market knowledge has secured many long term occupier, developer and investment clients for the firm.

Jane joined the bf team in 2014 to provide valuable administrative assistance to our Building Surveying Consultancy. Prior to joining, Jane spent 23 years at Barclays Bank, during which time she held various positions, latterly as Head of Operations. Her extensive experience stood her in excellent stead for her role at bf where she is the linchpin of our Building Surveying team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all the Department’s administration.
